Our goal is to prevent the unnecessary euthanasia of healthy, loving cats and dogs and find them new homes which will last a lifetime.

We are open 7 days  - 365 days a year

Viewing hours: Dogs 9.00am-1.00pm, Cats 9.00am-2.00pm

The Sydney Dogs & Cats Home is the animal care facility (pound) for the following Councils:

City of Sydney, Hurstville, Kogarah, Rockdale, Leichhardt, Woollahra, Marrickville, Botany, Randwick, Centennial Parklands and Waverley.

Sydney Dogs & Cats Home is a tax deductible registered charity. As Councils provide funding for only the first week of an unmicrochipped pet and two weeks for a microchipped pet, we rely on donations to help us keep these dogs and cats alive longer so a suitable home can be found

Of the 4,000 animals that pass through here in a year only 4% of cats and 49% of dogs are reclaimed by their owners. 

All pets adopted from Sydney Dogs & Cats Home are desexed, micro- chipped, vaccinated, wormed, vet-checked and lifetime registered with your Council before going to a new home.  

We believe there is someone out there for each pet - it is just a matter of time and money to keep those pets alive long enough for that someone to be found.

We use and recommend IAMS Cat and Dog Foods.
