Help find our friends a home

Our goal is to prevent the unnecessary euthanasia of healthy, loving cats and dogs and find them new homes which will last a lifetime.

We are open 7 days  - 365 days a year

Monday to Friday  9 am to 3 pm

Dog viewing hours  9 am to 1 pm

Saturday, Sunday
  & Public Holidays 10 am to 2 pm

Dog viewing hours 10 am to 1 pm

Cats can be viewed during normal opening hours.

Sydney Dogs & Cats Home is the animal care facility (pound) for the following Councils:

Hurstville, Kogarah, Rockdale, Leichhardt, Woollahra, Marrickville, Botany, Randwick, Centennial Parklands, Waverley and Willoughby.

Sydney Dogs & Cats Home is a tax deductible registered charity.

As Councils provide funding for only the first week of an unmicrochipped pet and two weeks for a microchipped pet, we rely on donations to help us keep these dogs and cats alive longer so a suitable home can be found.

Of the more than 4,000 animals that pass through our facility in a year, only 4% of cats and 49% of dogs are reclaimed by their owners. 

All pets adopted from Sydney Dogs & Cats Home are desexed, micro- chipped, vaccinated, wormed and vet-checked before going to a new home.  

We believe there is someone out there for each pet - it is just a matter of time and money to keep those pets alive long enough for that someone to be found.

Please note: Charges apply when reclaiming your lost dog or cat.

We use and recommend IAMS Cat and Dog Foods.
