Like most terriers she is also quite active and lively and will need a daily walk and ongoing grooming. Candy would probably be better suited to an older couple or family.
Major	Name Breed Size Sex Age Date In	Major G Shepherd X Rotti Large when grown Male TBA 15/12/08	Major is a real sweetie. He is an affectionate and playful boy. He is very people oriented and would be a great family dog for people experienced with large breeds. He will need basic puppy training and then ongoing training is recommended for large breeds. Solid secure fencing is a must!
Felix	Name Breed Size Sex Age Date In	Felix Maltese X Small Male 6 - 8 months 26/8/08	After being seen on our website, Felix has found his very own family to live with forever. Felix is a lovely, affectionate and loyal dog and very active. He will need an experienced, committed dog owner as he needs socialising and interaction with new people and dogs.He can be vocal if not in the right environment and can be dominant with other small dogs. He needs to be the only dog while ongoing behavioural work is done. Felix would be best suited to a home where, if there are children, they are over 12.

Mabel	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Mabel Cattle X Foxy Medium Female TBA - pup 99 28/11/08	Mabel is a sweet young pup who is not happy being cooped up in a small cage when she should be running around using up all that pent up energy. Mabel is intelligent and friendly, affectionate and playful and will be quite an active little girl. This breed needs to be included in household activities and get plenty of mental and physical stimulation. She will need a good sized yard and daily walks.
Julie	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Julie Kelpie Medium-Large Female approx 9 months 111 1/12/08	Julie is a sweet and intelligent kelpie. She is very young and will need good training immediately. As Kelpies are such intelligent dogs they need plenty of physical and mental stimulation and Julie is no exception. Julie has a gentle and quiet nature and would be easy to train but needs a gentle, active owner to help her through her training period.
Tayla	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Tayla Doberman Large Female 5 years 25 22/11/08	Tayla is a bit shy on first meeting but quickly warms to you if she deems you acceptable. She is a lovely, well behaved girl who is very affectionate and playful. Due to her strength it would be preferable for someone with experience of the breed or similar to adopt Tayla.
Tosun	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Tosun Maltese X Small Male 11 months 394 20/11/08	`Tosun came in with Tic Tac who has already been adopted so he is feeling a bit lonely at present. He is very people oriented and loves attention. He was neglected previously and must have ongoing grooming. When he came into the shelter his hair was so matted it was unbelievable. Any new owner must be prepared to groom and care for Tosun appropriately. Tosun is a sweet little boy and you would be rewarded with lots of fun and games and a very loyal and loving dog.
Max	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Max Staffy X Kelpie Medium Male TBA 168 25/10/08	Max can be a bit timid on first meeting and may take time to get to know you. He can be easily frightened with handling and will need a patient adult household and someone to spend time making him feel secure. Otherwise he is very active and enjoys a brisk walk. He will need obedience training once you have gained his confidence. Secure 5ft min fencing needed as with most dogs of his breed As he is unsure of canine friends at present he would be best as the only dog in household Max would benefit from a large living area with lots of activity and stimulation.
Apollo	Name Breed Size Sex Age Date In	Apollo Labrador X Mastiff Large when grown Male 12-14 weeks 17/12/08	Pup Apollo is a very active boy and just needs to find a family with a good sized yard where he can burn off his energy. He is very friendly and affectionate with a lot of love to give. As he will be a large dog when fully grown he will need training to control his excitement and plenty of time spent with him.

Early socialisation and puppy training is essential for this breed. He is intelligent, active and very quick to learn and will make a loyal family dog. Experienced dog owners preferred.

She is also quite active and would love a daily walk. As she loves the company of people so much she would be best suited to someone who is home quite a lot. Precious would be an ideal companion dog for an older person or couple. Definitely an indoor dog.

She returns the ball and even dances. Perhaps that's why she is called Melody..
Chino	Name Breed Size Sex Age Date In	Chino Beagle X Cav King Charles Small Male 11 months 20/12/08	Chino is a sweet little dog who was surrendered because his owners don't want him anymore! What a great Christmas present for poor little Chino. He is looking very sad in his cage and obviously doesn't know what he's done wrong. Chino would be a great family dog and has been in a family with young children since a young pup.
Nike	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Nike Terrier X Small Male approx 1 year 96 29/11/08	Nike is a sweet little dog but needs more experience with close handling by different people. As a result he will need a patient and understanding owner to build his confidence in them and move forward from whatever sad place he has come.
Izzy	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Izzy Kelpie X Rotti Medium-Large Female TBA	As anyone knows kelpies are an active breed and so is Izzy - but they are also an intelligent breed. Izzy has lots of energy and is friendly, sweet and playful - what more could anyone ask for? Izzy is not only very friendly with people but also other dogs. She is only young and will need ongoing obedience training but you will be rewarded with a loyal and loving companion. She will need good daily walks, and a home with good high fencing and someone who can spend some time with her. She will not be happy just left in a yard all day by herself - who would be? Izzy is ideal for an active person who likes to walk daily.

She likes company and likes to be included in household activities. She would be best as the only dog as she prefers all the attention for herself. Not quite ready to share the love. Roxy would make a good house dog but Roxy confesses she is not good with cats.
Indy	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Indy Terrier Small Male approx 2 years 34 23/11/08	Indy is a very people oriented little girl who just loves company and is also good with other dogs - a big plus! She is very sweet and affectionate and reasonably quiet. She is not suited to young children as she'd prefer a more quiet household. Indy would suit most adult homes but would prefer someone at home with her for a lot of the time.
Millie	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Millie Labrador Large Female 10 years 56 14 October 2008	Millie is a beautiful, friendly and affectionate older girl. She does have some health issues with her skin and back legs but it doesn't stop her. These issues will need to be discussed with staff but should not be a major cost issue. Millie needs a stable home to live out the rest of her life in comfort. Millie is simply adorable - she is active, sociable and people oriented and would make a wonderful companion and family pet for virtually anyone. Millie is available for a reduced price of $150.
Fluffy	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Fluffy Maltese X Small Female TBA 396 20/11/08	Fluffy is a very affectionate, active and intelligent girl. She is also very friendly and people oriented. As she is only young Fluffy will need puppy training and basic guidance. She will also require ongoing grooming for life due to her long coat. Fluffy will need access to indoor/outdoor but is not suitable as an outdoor dog only.
Bella	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Bella Border Collie Medium/Large Female 10 months 159 19/10/08	Super active, this darling dog will need an owner who can take her for long daily walks and who can help build her confidence. She's currently quite head-shy and appears to not like children. Bella is best suited to a single person owner or an older family. She will need lots of exercise. She is still young and will definitely benefit from some obedience training, and can be vocal if bored.
Gizmo	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Gizmo Shih Tzu Small Male 12 years 116 19/10/08	This photo does not do justice to little Gizmo and we'll get a better one ASAP. He is a sweet little fellow and very friendly and gently. Unfortunately he only has one eye but lucky for him it works fine. Gizmo would be a great companion dog for someone at home much of the time. Gizmo is available for a reduced price of $150.

She is quite timid on first meeting people but with gentle handling she quickly warms to you. She is very gentle and well behaved and would be an ideal lap dog and a quiet, friendly companion. Young children might be too busy for her to deal with so a family with older children or an adult household would be ideal. It would also be good if she had someone at home with her most of the time.

He is active and intelligent and needs good solid fence as this breed are good climbers.

They are two sweet little boys who clearly get on well together and it would be great if someone would like to adopt both dogs. The advantage of two dogs is that they keep each other company during the day and provide double enjoyment when the owners are at home. Beagles are good escape artists so need solid fencing. However they also make wonderful family pets.

Duke	Name Breed Size Sex Age Pound No Date In	Duke Labrador x Am Staffy Large Male 4-5 months 301 10/11/08	He may not have been here long but Duke is only a puppy and needs to be with a family instead of a pound cage. As he will be a large dog when fully grown people often overlook him but he is such a lovable and friendly little boy. He is active and playful but will need puppy training as all pups do. Any training work put in by owners now will be rewarded threefold when he is fully grown, but at the moment he is just a big baby. Duke would make a great family pet for adult homes or those with teenagers. Come and meet Duke and look into those adorable eyes - you won't be able to resist!
