Sadly, we hear many stories about animals that astound us and witness cases of extreme cruelty and neglect, as well as many happy endings.

We’ve seen dogs brought in who are in desperate need of a simple bath or clip, who have probably never been vaccinated and in the overwhelming majority of cases are not desexed.

Some of these dogs, because of their bad condition, could not even walk properly and even though they were in such a bad physical state, were still trusting of humans.

We see aggressive Pitbulls and other dogs being brought in, some obviously scarred and battered from organised dog fighting. They are usually left with us as the owners are too frightened to collect them for fear of prosecution for illegal dog fighting.

And how could we forget the literally hundreds of cats and kittens that are brought in to our facility ever year, particularly during the Spring/Summer months.

These include dozens of mother cats, each with litters of anything up to seven kittens who have just been dumped by their owners – owners who were not responsible enough to have their cats (either male or female) desexed.

Many of the cats that are brought in are already sick with Cat Flu, Diarrhoea or Ringworm.

Sadly so many of these sweet creatures are put to sleep, simply because there are too many cats and not enough responsible owners.

We are constantly astounded by the cases of cruelty and neglect that come to our attention. We do our best to turn fate around for these animals and no one is more delighted that us when they are placed into loving homes.
