These are the first of the Volunteer jobs at Sydney Dogs and Cats Home.

Over the coming weeks we'll be adding to the jobs. Some will be occasional jobs and others will be more regular jobs. Some of the jobs will require commitment and others can be shared. We'll make note of the type of job in each description.

If the job advertised is connected with cats it is indicated by an image of a cat, connected with dogs by an image of a dog, and if it's a general job then an image of both will be on the ad.

Job:  Donation Box Administrators

Hours required: Two or three hours a month

Job Type: Occasional

We need two or three people to place a number of SDCH Donation Boxes in prominent places and to monitor the status of those boxes via phone. Once the box is full the Donation Box Administrator will need to collect, bring the money to SDCH and return the box to the location.

We have fortnightly posters on the website and we have the generic "Adopt a Pound Pet" posters there too. With your help we can spread the word about the great cats and dogs at SDCH looking for homes.

Just print out either or both of the posters and put them up on community, work or shop noticeboards.

Job:  Dog Ambassador

Hours required: Mostly weekends, but weekdays if you have the time

Job Type: Regular commitment and can be job share

We are looking for two people to join our current team to talk to potential adopters about our dogs. You will need to love dogs, have knowledge of owning a dog (e.g. walking, feeding, etc) and have an outgoing personality so that you can talk to people about our dogs' personalities, about owning a dog and help them to choose the right dog for them. You will also be helping to increase our rehoming rate.
